Maps are used weekly during the course of our study of Hawaiian History, the study of migrations of the early Hawaiian people to the islands, and the study of immigrants from around the world arriving in Hawaii. We also use maps  as a reference for weekly current events.  4th grade Standard 7: Geography: WORLD IN SPATIAL TERMS-Use geographic representations to organize, analyze, and present information on people, places, and environments and understand the nature and interaction of geographic regions and societies around the world SS.4.7.1 Places and Regions: Identify the major geographic characteristics and demographics of the pre-contact Hawaiian archipelago, including its relative location to other major land masses SS.4.7.2 World In Spatial Terms: Collect, organize, and analyze data to interpret and construct geographic representations.
