School Name:

Mauka Lani Elementary

Catherine Nagashima

The health and safety of my 23 students is of the utmost importance to me.  Our classroom is located at the base of a mountain and quickly fills up with dirt and dust.  I am requesting 6 containers of Clorox Wipes so we can keep our classroom clean and 2 large containers of hand sanitizer so students can keep their hands clean as well. There are ceiling fans in our classroom but they have a minimal impact from where they are stationed and the single stand fan that was previously donated only works when the students are meeting on the floor.  I am also requesting 2 stand fans so we can have more air circulate in our classroom and students can better focus on the lessons. During Math we are practicing counting from 1 to 1,000.  I am requesting manipulatives for students to practice counting such as dry beans, Popsicle sticks, and straws. Mauka Lani Elementary is a Title 1 School and replenishing basic materials throughout the school year often becomes an out of pocket expense.  I am requesting 100 sheets of lined chart paper, 200 pencils, 25 wide rule composition books, and 50 black ultra fine point sharpies.  These materials will be used to model daily Writing, Reading, Math, or Social Studies assignments and for the students to take notes and complete their assignments.
